Of course, it doesn’t help when you see bathing suits hanging in the stores in February. (Dang you Target and your marketing ploy of colorful bikinis at the entrance of the store! Seriously?) To help add some motivation to your already existing exercise routine, here are 11 easy ways to burn 100 calories without going to the gym. In fact, you may already be doing a few of these activities and not even realize the great benefits you’re receiving – burning calories, and strengthening your muscles and cardiovascular system.

  1. Walking the Dog – 26 minutes
  2. Walking – 20 minutes at 3 mph pace
  3. Yoga – 20 minutes
  4. Mowing the Lawn – 20 minutes
  5. Dancing Around Living Room – 20 minutes (when no one’s watching, of course)
  6. Lifting Weights – 15 minutes at a vigorous pace
  7. Walking Stairs – 11 minutes
  8. Zumba – 11 minutes
  9. Running – 9 minutes at 6 mph pace
  10. Jumping Rope – 9 minutes (with or without the rope)
  11. Riding a Bike – 23 minutes

All of these activities and exercises are based on a 150 pound person, so actual calorie count will vary based on your actual weight and intensity level. And if you do any of the above activities or exercises several times a day, the calorie count significantly increases.
